چکیده
Background: Stem cell aging, characterized by elevated p16INK4a expression, decreases repopulating and self-renewal abilities, which results in inflammation slow recovery against stress. Methods: Biopsied muscles were analyzed at baseline 24 h after squat exercise 12 trained men (22 ± 2 y). Placebo (PLA) immunostimulant Rg1 (5 mg) supplemented 1 before a exercise, using double-blind counterbalanced crossover design. Results: Perceived exertion the end of resistance session was significantly lowered supplementation. Exercise doubled endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) (p < 0.001) decreased mRNA to 50% (d = 0.865, p 0.05) muscle tissues, despite p16INK4a+ beta-galactosidase+ (-Gal+) counts being unaltered. further 35% with greater effect size than PLA level 1.302, 0.01) myeloperoxidase (MPO) 39% 0.05). A strong correlation between MPO expression tissues observed (r 0.84, 0.001). Conclusion: EPC skeletal d an acute bout exercise. The exercised effects lowering aging tissue enhanced Rg1, suggesting involvement immune stimulation on rejuvenation.

Lipid oxidation is reduced in obese human skeletal muscle.
The purpose of this study was to discern cellular mechanisms that contribute to the suppression of lipid oxidation in the skeletal muscle of obese individuals. Muscle was obtained from obese [body mass index (BMI), 38.3 +/- 3.1 kg/m(2)] and lean (BMI, 23.8 +/- 0.9 kg/m(2)) women, and fatty acid oxidation was studied by measuring (14)CO(2) production from (14)C-labeled fatty acids. Palmitate oxi...
متن کاملThe exercised skeletal muscle: a review
The skeletal muscle is the second more plastic tissue of the body second to the nervous tissue only. In fact, both physical activity and inactivity contribute to modify the skeletal muscle, by continuous signaling through nerve impulses, mechanical stimuli and humoral clues. In turn, the skeletal muscle sends signals to the body, thus contributing to its homeostasis. We'll review here the contr...
متن کاملReduced lipoprotein lipase activity in postural skeletal muscle during aging.
Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is a key enzyme for fatty acid and lipoprotein metabolism in muscle. However, the effect of aging on LPL regulation in skeletal muscle is unknown. We report the effect of aging on LPL regulation in the soleus (red oxidative postural) muscle and the tibialis anterior (white glycolytic non-weight-bearing) muscle in 4- and 24-mo-old Fischer 344 rats and 18- and 31-mo-old F...
متن کاملThe protective effect of Ginsenoside Rg1 on aging mouse pancreas damage induced by D-galactose
The protective effect and mechanism of Ginsenoside Rg1 on aging mouse pancreas damaged by D-galactose (D-gal)-induced was studied. Two-month-old male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into three groups of 10 mice per group. The D-gal group of mice received hypodermic injection of D-gal (120 mg/kg/day) for 42 days; the Rg1+D-gal group of mice receiving D-gal + intraperitoneal injection Rg1 (40...

The elucidation of the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of traditional Chinese medicines in clinical practice is a key step toward their worldwide application, and this topic is currently a subject of intense research interest. Rg1, a component of ginsenoside, has recently been shown to perform several pharmacological functions; however, the underlying mechanisms of these effects rem...
